The 10 best free online browser games in 2025

Free online games are everywhere, but only the best browser games get our attention. These are games that don't require any downloads, app stores, or installation. They're totally free online games that work in just about any browser on any device (with the possible exception of Safari on iOS).

Some are among the best free multiplayer titles, some let you play against friends online, and some are entirely solo with a click-and-play setup, no matter what phone, laptop, or platform you're running.

Play Bunco (no account creation required!)

When it comes to free online games, Play Bunco is a classic. Bunco is a dice game that dates to the 19th century. Players take turns rolling three dice in an attempt to rack up 21 points. It's surprisingly fun and addictive. You can play online without intrusive ads on any of the latest smartphones, iPads, or computers.

Mexican Train Dominoes (No account needed here either!)

Another classic game, Mexican Train is all about scoring a matching "train" of dominoes through carefully placed double dominoes and matching pips (dots). It's a fun game almost no one has heard of relative to more popular titles, but it's surprisingly easy to pick up and play online for hours. This online game is free, works on Android devices, iOS, and even Kindles through their App Store, or in-browser. It's also got a loyal fanbase and active communities on Facebook.

The Last District

Speaking of active communities, The Last District is a fun twist tied into Discord, the popular online chat app. So it's not just a favorite among browser games, it works as a bot inside the Discord app, too, which works across desktop PCs, Android phones, iPads, and iPhones.

The game centers around surviving a zombie apocalypse. You and your fellow friends or online players must survive through a series of text-based choices. It's surprisingly fun and easy to conceal during even the most boring meetings, too.

Soulbound

Soulbound is a relatively new entrant as a science-fantasy MMORPG, or massive multiplayer online role-playing game (a fancy way of saying, "lots of people take turns playing online together").

The graphics are delightful, surprisingly fluid for running in a browser at 120 frames per second, and it's full of co-op raids, class progression, and more.

Forge of Empires

You'll need to register to play this game, but that's to prevent bots from interfering and to enable online play with friends and against other players. If you're familiar with the old Age of Empires game from the 90s and early 2000s, this will feel right at home with modern graphics and style.

In this world, you start building your empire, complete with farms, castles, and armies that help defend against raiders, enemies, and other players. You'll be tasked with capturing enough food and material for your village and working to grow through education, religion, and other great wonders.

It's among the most established and favorite online multiplayer games anywhere.

World of Warships

World of Warships is available on various App Stores, but also works as a good browser game should work: entirely on-device. You'll need to register an account here as well, but this is because you'll be playing against other players. It's basically Battleship for the modern era, where you'll strategically position your naval ships and attack and defend against other players.

Crappy Farm

For those who enjoy playing fun games with a little snark, Crappy Farm is a farm simulator that is, well, kinda crappy by design. You'll click to be the first people to have a harvest. You beat other players by having the largest, um, crappiest harvest first. It's a rather under-the-radar game in 2025, but if you enjoy playing fun games with limited skill to learn, this is a good place to start. You'll need to create an account, and it does try to upsell you with a VIP membership, but you can play online by just clicking "How to play to win" on their homepage.

Slither

Sure to become one of your favorite games instantly, this game is a remake of the old Snake games, the ones we used to play on graphing calculators in high school math class. Just type in a name for it to refer to you by (no account required) and start playing by moving your arrow keys around. Don't let the snake touch itself as it grows longer.

Shell Shockers

Online multiplayer games and the best free multiplayer titles would not be complete without mentioning Shell Shockers. You'll throw eggs in this twist on a first-person shooter (FPS) game. It's casual, fun, and kinda funny. But it doesn't work on iPads or iPhones due to some browser requirements. Like some browser games, it needs Chrome, like you find on desktop PCs, to work properly. Some Android tablets may be able to run this game without interruptions.

Retro Bowl

A classic don't-call-it-NFL-football game that makes you the head coach of a pro team. As the name suggests, the graphics have a delightfully simple retro style that reminds you of the early Nintendo or arcade games of yore.

You'll manage team morale, fans, and try to beat computer-based players. Works great on iPads and iPhones, too.
